The Bittern

These are the questions we have been doing. They are about the book 

1. Because the bird would of been getting food from there
2. Because it says they were running around like headless chickens
3. Because grandad didn’t drain out his swamp and many animals could live there
4. I think they might feel a bit angry because the farmers would've wanted to raise animals there.
5.Good because the bittern might of been getting food from the swamp

This is the reading task we had to do for the book we have it is called the bittern it is about the a bird called the bittern going to granddads swamp because granddad is not draining his swamp out.

Letter to V.M Jones

Dear V.M Jones,

Hi my name is Rhys, I thought your book was amazing. It is the best books I’ve read. One of my favorite subjects at school is writing as well as art.

Room 20 have just finished your book and we were reading the notes and your authors note. In your note it said you have been to many schools in New Zealand and we hope you can come to our school some time.
Your book was AWESOME!! I like the part when Josh went back to get his brother in the triathlon in the chapter, The end of the race.  I really enjoyed the part where we got to meet Buddy.


My favourite character was Josh because he was determined to keep on going in the 
triathlon 

Hopefully you can write more books for us to read.

My best friend

My Best Friend on Storybird
I chose this one because I like it and it very funny. The pictures are really funny too. It is a story bird of friends. The person that is telling has one best friend and he is hairy. It is telling you about your best friends.

Swimming Sports

SPLASH! I dive into the pool racing for first in one length of the school pool in freestyle but instead I’m almost at the finish and I'm in 3rd. I hop out of the pool and was relieved that the race was over. I was hoping I would come 1st  or 2nd but no. I got 3rd. When I was racing I could smell chlorine. When I got out of the pool I was happy and relieved that the race was over

I felt cold and freezing and I could see other people shivering just like me. My legs were as sore as a bikers when he had just finished the tour around France and I could barely walk to where I was sitting. I lick my lips and taste chemicals and fresh water. When I got to my seat I got told that I had to go in the relay for our team because I am one of the fastest in my house colour and after I got told that there was another race that was about to start it was breaststroke and I didn't want to go in it because I'm not that good at it. Then I hear a big loud CLAP!! and say “that must be the new starting sound instead of the whistle”. Then I see Mathew Halford in the lead and say I want to be as good as them.

This is my swimming assessment. The thing I am pleased with the most is that I learnt how to scull.
My goal for this term is to kick on my front and back.
