The Windmill Farmer

The Windmill Farmer

I'm a lonely old windmill farmer and it is planting season again. Every autumn it is planting time. I like my farm to bits and take very good care of it. Farming windmills is my hobby and I go out and give them water I like farming because i don’t have to do much and they just need water. When it is planting time I get really excited and make sure my all of my tools are in good nick. If my tools aren't going to last planting season I would go to the shops and get new ones.

The next day I grab my hoe and start to plant. When the Windmills start to grow  I check them every day. Every night I watch the weather forecast. If a storm is coming I make sure the windmills will hold up. If they won’t I have to make them stronger.

Last season it all went wrong and I was devastated because all of windmills got blown down all because of a big storm. At the break of dawn I get up and get ready for another day of work. Every day I work hard and leave my house and go into the country air. At the end of every day I go inside make me a cup of tea. I walk to my seat and watch the sun go down. By the time the sun goes down it is watering time. Every 2 to 3 hours I water them. One of the downsides of being a farmer is having to dig them up and wait for next autumn.

It has just been past Autumn and I am going through a hard and cold winter. The windmills had gone now and I am all lonely again the windmills are like family to me and I talk to them every day. I hate the winter because it kills my windmills and makes me lonely again. I am halfway through winter and All of my water pipes are frozen up. There used to be grass but now its just snow, snow and more snow. Layers of snow stop me from even leaving my house.

At the end of winter the snow starts to clear up and leave my house. I brush off the last little bit of snow and look in front of me. I see nothing but windmills
“oh wait windmills yes yes yes my windmills are back they must of replanted themselves when they got killed by the cold and freezing Winter. I was so happy  and excited. I was Jumping with glee.

I have gotten a link from the literacy shed.

The Catch

I throw my line into the water. I wait a few minutes my line gets tugged and I bring it in. Its only a small one and I am very disappointed. I hear the sound of a fox screaming. I go through the bush and see a fox tangled up in rope. I cut the rope off its leg and it backs away. It looked like the fox had frozen. Then out of nowhere the fox jumps onto my chest and knocked me over. The fox runs to my one and only fish. He grabs it and starts running away. I start to chase the fox.

It goes through the thorns. Should I go through or not?  I decided to go through. The fox runs up the hill. We reach the summit and the dog throws the fish away into the fog. The fog evaporates and a big giant lake appears I am surprised but disappointed. The fox has thrown my only fish into the water.

Splash!  A giant fish jumps out of the water. When it got back in the water the fox drags a branch over to me.   I tie some string to it and throw the line into the water. I get a bite and pull it in. It feels bigger than the first one that I caught. I pull it in and its about a meter long. I throw my line back into the water and wait for a little 10 minutes later I get a giant tug I pick my rod up and the fish goes away.
“Damn it” I say to myself

I pull my line in anyway and check the hook. I throw it back out and wait five minutes. I get a tug and pull as hard as I can. A fish come up on shore. I take the hook out and put it on my shoulder. The fox and I start to walk back to the village. We get to the entrance and give the fox the smaller one. I walk into the village. I turned around and the fox was gone. When I got into the village the villagers looked so happy. I was proud and happy. From that day on I went to that lake to fish for my villagers.

This is my writing about a little boy and a fox that has to catch fish for his village and the fox take his fish and takes him to a lake where there is lots of fish.

Here is a link to the web site we got the story from. It is a video called the catch.

Camp Reflection

Camp Kaitawa

My favorite time at camp was going rock climbing beside Lake Kiriopukae. Right next to the lake was a natural rock that had plants and it was something that we could climb up. We went to the lake because is was right next to Michael Noonan's grave. Michael Noonan was a armed constabulary dispatcher from Onepoto to Wairoa.

Research
Rock climbing was started in the 1880’s and was invented in Wales, Britain.
Rock climbing is when you climb up a natural rock face and reach the top or the summit of it. The record height of rock climbing in 24 hours is 29,130ft  it is 1370ft. The fastest time in speed climbing is someone climbed up a 15 meter wall in 6.26 seconds. When you are rock climbing you only use hands, feet and gear like rope and harnesses. In the sport the most common injury is when you get sore fingers from the rock and climbing a far distance.

What, When, Who, Where and Why
I choose climbing up the rock because it was really fun and enjoyable.
On Monday the 27th of May Rm 17 went  to Camp Kaitawa. When we got there Miss Hill and Mrs Roil took us to see Michael Noonan. He is buried next to Lake Kiriopukae
Next to the lake is a big giant rock and that is what we climbed up.

Next time
I would like to try climb up the other side of the Giant rock

When we went to Lake Kiriopukae it was all dried up and was in two big ponds and had a little creek going around to the other half.

This is my Reflection about camp. We had to choose a favorite part of camp and I choose going to lake kiriopukae
